I live in the beautiful lakeside town of Taupo in the central North Island of New Zealand and I am a New Zealand en Plein Air painting artist meaning I now paint mostly in the outdoors with a portable easel and sometimes talk to lots of people in the process. Born in the small town of Retford, England, multi-instrumentalist Whyte performed in many bands whilst growing up and music quickly became his creative outlet. After studying music at university, he transitioned from writing band-oriented music to producing electronic music drawing from a wide array of styles. At present, he produces rhythmically-driven music comprised of self-recordings of both acoustic and synthesised sounds. This coupling of seemingly opposite aesthetics attempts to give often heavily synthesised music a human touch, which is perhaps a fitting summary of his music. His driving rhythms are intertwined with organic sounds and sensitive moments of reflection, combining to produce tracks that attempt to tug at your heartstrings whilst making you want to move.
