Explaining how the songs come to play in the story, director James Gunn says, 'One of the main story points in the movie is that Quill has this compilation tape Awesome Mix 1 that he got from his mother before she died that she made for him. It was of songs that she loved, all songs from the s, and that's the only thing he has left of his mother and that's the only thing he has left of his home on Earth. He uses that as a connection to his past and to the sadness that he feels of having left all that and lost all that. We can actually play the music on set and the actors can really understand where we're going with it tonally. Our actors have a much better idea of what this film is because of the music that we use, both score and soundtrack. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

The music and the Earth stuff is one of those touchstones that we have to remind us that, yeah, [Quill] is a real person from planet Earth who's just like you and me. Except that he's in this big outer space adventure.

It takes him about 20 minutes to get ready. No one understands it, so thank you for sharing your thoughts so I know I'm not alone and not being too needy for feeling alone. I stand by my original statement. Would you rather give up the prospect of being married in the temple, the assurance of children being raised in the church, and parts of Mormon culture for your boyfriend, or a great man for your beliefs. A wonderful resource tool with great updates. It's really somethi g to watch a person who is so self absorbed. It sounds like you HAVE done your best in the past. Yeah man, don't doubt someone who was a missionary will try to convert you. With his busy schedule, all of the household chores laundry, dishes, cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning, bill paying, etc.
All faiths have vocabulary unique to them. I got married to a Mormon woman. Certainly not my husband. As I started to date and fall in love with my husband, almost everyone I knew was against it. If you like your regular fix of alcohol or nicotine, then dating a Mormon probably isn't a good idea. Plus I just quit my medical interpreting job last month. So while I believe that, in fact, non-celestial families still can be together forever, I also think that there must be great merit to qualifying for the whole Enchiladaвwhich I perhaps cannot fully appreciate at this time.
